Set up the system
A defined project.
We review your current practice, design the policy, procedure, forms and remuneration model, align them with your legal and HR teams, and introduce the process through training.
From disclosure to remuneration, one connected system.
In Türkiye, inventions made by employees are governed by Industrial Property Law No. 6769 and the Regulation on Employee Inventions. The law sets duties, deadlines and rights for both the company and the inventor.
We help businesses design and run an employee invention process that meets these requirements and works in practice, across R&D, management, legal, HR and finance.
Simplified overview · each case is assessed individually
Employee inventions are not only an IP question. Missed deadlines, unclear ownership or disputes over remuneration can cost a business the very innovations it invested in.
Employees must report service inventions in writing and without delay, describing the technical problem, the solution and how the invention was made. The employer records the disclosure and confirms the date of receipt in writing.
Within four months of a proper disclosure, the employer must notify the employee in writing whether it claims the invention fully or partially. If no claim is made in time, the invention becomes free.
Once an invention is fully claimed, the employer is obliged to apply for a patent, unless one of the exceptions provided by law, such as trade secret protection, applies.
For a fully claimed invention, the employee receives an incentive award of at least the net minimum wage, paid within two months of the application's formal compliance notice. Remuneration for the use of the invention is calculated with the Regulation's groups and coefficients.
The Regulation's provisions are mandatory in the employee's favour. Employment contracts cannot set them aside, and agreements on a service invention can only be made once the patent application has been filed.
Remuneration generally runs for the life of the patent, and objections that an agreement or remuneration is unfair can be raised up to six months after employment ends.
A simplified overview for orientation. Each case depends on its facts and is assessed individually.
An employee invention moves through many hands. Without a shared process, each department sees only its own part, and deadlines fall between them.
Recognise and report inventions, contribute technical detail and keep information confidential.
Encourage reporting, give a first technical view and connect inventions to development plans.
Decide what to claim and protect, set priorities and approve budgets.
Align contracts, claim notices, confidentiality and any disputes with the legal framework.
Build invention duties into employment terms, onboarding and exit procedures.
Calculate, record and pay remuneration, and keep the related records.
We bring these roles together in one coordinated system, with clear responsibilities and timelines.
We design each element around your organisation's size, R&D activity and existing processes.

A written policy is the clearest way to set out how inventions are reported, assessed and rewarded. It helps employees understand their duties and helps the company meet its deadlines consistently.
If the employer does not claim an invention in writing within the period, the invention becomes free and the employee may use it. A tracking system is designed to prevent this.
Yes. For a fully claimed invention the employee receives an incentive award, and remuneration is due when the employer benefits from the invention. The Regulation sets out how it is calculated. If the parties cannot agree, the dispute goes to arbitration, and mediation can be tried first.
Rights and obligations arising from an invention continue after employment ends, including confidentiality and remuneration. Exit procedures should address open disclosures and records.
Any company, of any size, whose employees create inventions as part of their work.
